I have a lot of studying to do but today is hufflepuff pride day!! How could I not do something for my treasured house. 

I'm gonna copy here the post I made on tumblr in celebration of this day:

Today is house pride day (which is every day) and so I wanted to write down what my house, Hufflepuff, means to me.

When I was young, I never even considered putting myself in Hufflepuff, I thought myself to be a Ravenclaw because of my pure love of studying and wanting to be a teacher.

Then I took some test and got sorted in Hufflepuff.

I was confused of course but as years went by I finally understood why I truly belong in this house.

hard-working

There’s nothing I value more than hard-work. I look up to a person with much more respect when they got where they are by hard-work, rather than being born into it or just simply getting lucky.

My hard work helped me in learning English in under just a few years and it plays a major factor in me not giving up on physics or history.

I can learn both. I’m a hufflepuff.

patient

There’s a thing that people don’t understand, that you kinda need patience for everything. For life. You need the things you’ve learnt to settle down before you can build upon them. You need time to thoroughly consider a decision.

dedicated and loyal

When I dedicate myself to something I don’t give up on it only when I think it really is futile. This can come in the smallest of things like watching a tv show. Even when the story starts getting less interesting or the quality gets worse you still stand behind it. When a person is having their hardest time and even calls you names or hurts you don’t leave their side only when they really push you away or you feel it is time to leave. Because we’re loyal to the end and we’re dedicated to our cause (which is why puffs would make great revolutionaries)

I don’t cheat, I only rely on my own knowledge. Even if I were to cheat I would feel such an intense amount of guilt and like I’ve lied to myself that I couldn’t enjoy my achievement. Victory tastes so much better this way. And even if I lose or don’t get what I want it’s just a reminder, a message to me: it’s okay. If you work hard you’ll be there too.

tolerant and kind

All of these are important to me but kindness stands out. I have lows. Really, really bad days. And knowing that if I were among my puffs, they would bring me tea and promise to bring me the homework and they would wish me to get better before going to their lessons and just…I’m not a perfect person but to me, people who can find kindness in themselves even in this ugly/beautiful world. There’s nothing of bigger value to me. I admire these people. And even if I won’t become someone like that, I want to surround myself with people this kind and tolerant so that I can learn from them.

hufflepuff

I can’t say that I’m not a typical puff cause what is that? I am all of those things above but I’m also brash, I curse, I’m loud, I can be cruel and I’m not afraid to get into a fight if things come down to it.

But I’m also willing to sit next to you for hours to explain what you didn’t understand in class and I’d only ask for a ‘thank you’ and smile in return. I’d do hours of research on things you just asked me and forgot them the next minute. I’d talk to you at 2 am if you needed it even if I have had something important the following day. But I won’t be your ragdoll, there to just be used. If I saw that you don’t appreciate my friendship then I say my goodbyes.

I’m proud to say that I’m a hufflepuff.
